1. Description

Here are the default values that are set when creating a new record/object.

It consists of the following elements:

  1. Search field (Fig.1(1));
  2. Refresh button (Fig.1(2));
  3. Add tool (Fig.1(3));
  4. Registry (Fig.1(4));
  5. Pagination (Fig.1(5)).

1.1. Search field

The search is performed on the Grantee column.

It consists of an input field and a close button () displayed when the cursor is placed in the input field. To search by part of a word or a number, use the * symbol. You can also use the * character to replace any number of characters.

1.2. Refresh button

Updating the register table is performed by clicking on the refresh button -

(Fig.1(2)).

1.3. Add tool

It is used to add default values that will be added when a new entry/object is created to the Permissions tab of this object.

The New grantee modal window opens (Fig.2) after clicking the add button (Fig.1(3)). It comprises the Grantor and Grantee fields and the Add and Close buttons.

1.4. Registry 

By default, the registry is empty.

Consists of columns:

  • Grantor - the name of the User or Role with which the new entry/object was created. Depending on the icon, you can determine whether it is a Role or a User:   - the Role, - the User;
  • Grantee - the name of the Role, or User, that is assigned to the new entry/object in the Permissions tab if this entry was created by the user, or the role, specified in the Grantor column; 
  • Read - this column assigns permission to read (the ability to view) entries/objects in a particular section for the Grantee;
  • this column assigns permission to read entries in a particular section for the Grantee;
  • Edit - this column assigns permission to edit entries in a particular section  for the Grantee;
  • Delete - this column assigns permission to delete entries in a particular section  for the Grantee.

There are three choices in the columns:

  • Allow - allows the operation specified in the column heading;
  • Allow with delegation - allows an operation and can assign that operation to another User or Role;
  • Forbidden - forbidden the operation specified in the column heading.

1.5. Pagination

It consists of the Rows per page field, which indicates the number of entries (it is possible to set from 1 to 1000) per page, and forward and backward buttons for switching pages.

2. Opportunities

2.1. Add a new Grantee

Goal

Add a new Grantee

Preconditions
  1. Access to the Admin application;
  2. Access to the Objects section in the Admin application;
  3. Permission to select and edit in the Objects section.

Steps 

  1. Click the button. The New grantee modal window opens.
  2. Click on the Grantor field. A drop-down list of existing Roles and Users opens.
  3. Select the required  Role or User. The drop-down list is closed.
  4. Click on the Grantee field. A drop-down list of existing Roles and Users opens.
  5. Select the required  Role or User. The drop-down list is closed.
  6. Click the Add button.

Result

The modal window closes. The selected Role, or User, is displayed in the registry with permissions that are set by default!

2.2. Change the permission for operation

Change permission on Edit operation

Preconditions
  1. Access to the Admin application;
  2. Access to the Objects section in the Admin application;
  3. Permission to select and edit in the Objects section;
  4. The presence of an entry in the register.

Steps

  1. Find the necessary Role or User entry in the Grantee column
  2. Click on the drop-down list in the Edit column and select the required permission (Allow / Allow with delegation  / Forbidden.

Result

The selected permission is saved.

2.3. Remove a Grantee

Remove a Grantee 

Preconditions
  1. Access to the Admin application;
  2. Access to the Objects section in the Admin application;
  3. Permission to select and edit in the Objects section;
  4. The presence of an entry in the register.

Steps 

  1. Find the entry you want to delete in the registry;
  2. Click on the drop-down list in the Read column and select the Forbidden.

Result

The Grantee is removed.
